Resources

The messiah community grows larger every day as users interact with each other and share their knowledge.  Not only is this flattering to us and to messiah itself, it helps everyone in so many ways.  Not only do the plug-ins, content, advice, etc. have an immediate beneficial impact on the user community, but, as our users have seen, it has a direct impact on the program itself.  Since the beginning, messiah has been extremely user driven, and not just from the big studios.  Our desire to help digital artists is made easier by the care and effort that went into the base program, so adding features, modifying tools, and experimenting with new ideas is not only possible, it's actually being done on a daily basis  based on the input from our users.

And with messiah's powerful, easy to use API, the power is now in the hands of anyone who wants to wield it.  As a result, we have created this page to direct users and potential users to the main resources that are out there.

WEB FORUMS & IRC    MAILING LIST

A forum has been created at CG Talk, home of the industry's largest public forum.  As with the mailing list, the CG Talk forum is a great place to give and get advice because there are users from around the world and the pmG programmers there.  File attachments are permitted on the forum, so it's a great place to show off your work too.  Click the link to visit the forum:

For the worldwide community, take a look at animessiah.  It's a great forum entirely dedicated to messiah and besides English, it has sections in Spanish, German, and French. http://www.animessiah.com

Chat live with other users on the messiah IRC channel.  We also check in to it from time to time so it's a great way to make direct contact with the pmG team.  Here's the info:

The mailing list has been active since way back in the 20th century, and it's the primary meeting place for all messiah users.  Not only are there always plenty of people on hand from around the world, sharing knowledge and content (scripts, plug-ins, etc.), but pmG's programmers are there too, helping out in every way.  We also pride ourselves on how "on-topic" the list is, keeping the off-topic posts to virtually zero.  (Please help us keep it that way.)  As a result, everyone knows that if they need help their request will not get lost in a sea of idle chatter.

(Note:  File attachments are not permitted on the mailing list, but there are "Files" and "Photos" sections on the web site where you can upload and download scenes, images, etc.)  To join the mailing list, click here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pmGmessiah/

   WEB SITES

messiah Wiki - A great place to find valuable information, including tutorials.  The messiah Wiki is created by users who are eager to share what they've learned.  http://messiah3d.scribblewiki.com/

Zoogono.com - Zoogono bills itself as "Your messiah resource on the web" and it certainly is.  This web site ("zoogono" is Greek for "animate") was created by a group of messiah users as a service to the community.  You'll find lots of cool stuff, like plug-ins (or links to them), scripts, news, links, and soon there'll be much more, like a gallery and more.  http://www.zoogono.com

messiah collective (Blog) - This is a great blog created by Shane Ushijima.  Lots of great info and links!  Check it out here:  http://messiahcollective.blogspot.com/

  TRAINING VIDEOS

Sometimes the best way to learn something is to watch a professional in action or have them teach you one-on-one.  Training videos let you do that.  Although messiah is relatively new, there are already several great training videos available, and more are on the way.

Joe Cosman (www.cafepress.com/messiahtuts/533502) - Joe Cosman has also been a professional visual effects artist for years.  He currently has three videos for messiah:animate/studio available and more on the way.  Here's Joe's home site too:  www.joecosman.com
