overview animation rendering faq

messiah:studio
is a powerful animation & rendering software package specifically designed to handle the most demanding character animation & rendering needs.  It has been used in feature films, commercials, games, music videos and print ads since 1999.  messiah can be used as a stand-alone animation package or as a powerful addition to Maya, 3D Studio MAX, LightWave, Cinema 4D or an in-house proprietary application through the Host Connection plugins and Host API .  One of messiah's many unique capabilities includes the ability to set up an animation and, through messiah's host connections, run that animation and use it in any of the host programs messiah can connect to.  The same animation can be used and moved between each software. Maya users love our powerful and easy rigging capabilities, such as the ability to setup custom control rigs with Armature, without having to write MEL scripts.  Another favorite is messiah's "smart bones", that work the way you want immediately, without requiring weight maps (though weighting systems can be used too).

Use messiah:studio stand-alone or plug it's animation directly into:

Unlimited Render Nodes
This means that you can render on as many of your own machines as allowed by your OS without being charged a per-node license. messiah:studio includes a basic comand line render frame launcher, allowing you to set the frame range, output directory, and change some render parameters, for unattended rendering. It can also be controlled with any compatible 3rd party render controller.

Host Connection
Many studios, students, and hobbyists regularly use more than one 3D package.  There are various reasons for this, including animator experience, company pipeline, etc., and we've build our products with this in mind.  Messiah's host connection lets you add our powerful character animation tools to virtually any pipeline because it connects to most of the major 3D packages in use today:  3D Studio Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, and LightWave 3D.  The process is simple and can work in one of two ways:  either you can create your scene in messiah then export the animation, or you can use messiah as a plug-in for the host app.  You can also create your own connection to your proprietary software with the available API. For more information about using messiah as a plug-in for a host application, see Using messiah As A Plug-In on the Tutorials page.
